The Long Coat Akita

The Long Coat (also known as a Wooley) are Akita's who's
only difference from a standard coat is that their coats
are a bit longer (length can vary in each dog) and the coat
texture is softer and silkier. They do require more
brushing, but only blow their coats twice a year like a
standard coat.
Long coats are produced when both the sire and dam
carry this recessive gene.
In the Akita breed standard, a long coat is a fault, but not
a disqualifing fault and can be shown in the AKC ring.
Their traits and personalities are the same as a standard
coated Akita, but they are usually far less dominant and
are very good with children.
People who have long coats love them and will only own a
long coat.
They are ideal dogs for families.
These are pictures of LC's
